YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, on Thursday met with President Gianni Buquicchio of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, France.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Press Office of the Government of Armenia that they reflected on the snap parliamentary election that was conducted in Armenia last December. The Venice Commission head noted that this voting was free and fair, and in accordance with international standards.

The Armenian PM underscored collaboration with the Venice Commission, and stressed the latter’s important role in the implementation of reforms.

Pashinyan and Buquicchio also discussed cooperation between Armenia and the Venice Commission, especially in election law reforms in Armenia and in improvement of its legislative framework.

Nikol Pashinyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to European values, and highlighted the productive cooperation with the Venice Commission.

Gianni Buquicchio, in turn, welcomed the Armenian government’s reform agenda, and he expressed willingness to assist Armenia in this task.
