French investigators were able to establish the place of the fire in the Cathedral of Notre-Dame, CNN reported.

The investigators believe the fire started at the center of the cathedral's roof towards the base of the iconic spiral. They are focusing on two potential problems relating to the outbreak of the fire. One issue under investigation is a possible problem with the fire alarm system sensors.

The fire broke out at around 6:30 pm Monday, and the roof, the clock and spire was damaged. According to preliminary reports, the fire started during the restoration works. The French authorities said large fire has been extinguished. Paris municipality will allocate 50 million euros for restoration of Notre Dame cathedral which was heavily damaged because of fire.
