YEREVAN. – Secretary of the Security Council (SC) of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, on Friday received US Ambassador Lynne Tracy.

Grigoryan presented the security reforms being carried out in Armenia, especially the policy being developed toward crime prevention. The SC chief touched also upon the US funding for demining programs in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), and stressed the importance of the continuity of American humanitarian assistance to Artsakh.

Ambassador Tracy, for her part, noted that guaranteeing regional and global security is a key component of Armenia-US bilateral relations, and that she is pleased to have the opportunity to discuss with Grigoryan further cooperation between the two countries in the domain of security.

During the meeting the interlocutors discussed several matters that are on the agenda of Armenian-American relations.

Armen Grigoryan and Lynne Tracy exchanged views also on the avenues for a pacific resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and on some other topics of regional importance.
