Protesters have begun building barricades near the Georgian Parliament building in central Tbilisi. They closed the Jubalashvili Brothers' Street with sand and construction garbage bags, Novosti Gruzia reports.

More than 20 opposition parties are holding a large-scale protest rally in central Tbilisi in response to the failure of constitutional reforms. Earlier, they announced the start of a "full picketing of parliament," and blocked all entrances to parliament.

Sandbags and wood-filled sacks were taken to parliament by opposition European Georgia party leaders, MP Giga Bokeria and Gigi Ugulava, the former mayor of Tbilisi. They demanded that the police allow the truck to enter the area, but law enforcement refused.

After a slight altercation of words, the oppositionists and their supporters removed the bags from the truck their own car.
