Armenian Deputy FM Grigor Hovhannisyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of South Africa Andre Johannes Groenewald to be handed over copies of credentials (residence in Kyiv), MFA’s press service reported.

The deputy minister wished the ambassador success in the implementation of the mission and expressed hope that he would contribute to the deepening and expansion of bilateral relations. 

Grigor Hovhannisyan touched upon the democratic developments in Armenia, as well as the priorities of the country's foreign policy.

The Deputy FM and the Ambassador highlighted the importance of enhancing political dialogue, taking practical steps to study and evaluate economic opportunities between the parties, emphasizing the development of promising cooperation in the fields of information technology, jewelry, tourism, diamond production, winemaking, pharmaceuticals and other fields.

The sides also exchanged views on the process of Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement, as well as a number of international and regional issues.
