I don’t know what ‘deep state’ means. This is what Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia Eduard Aghajanyan told journalists today.

When asked what Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan meant when he said the state apparatus is showing resistance to the revolution, Aghajanyan told journalists they should probably ask the Prime Minister.

When asked what Daniel Ioannisyan meant by ‘deep state’ and whether he had noticed such a phenomenon, Aghajanyan said the following: “I don’t know what ‘deep state’ means.”

The journalists explained that ‘deep state’ means shady agreements, and Eduard Aghajanyan said the following: “There are no shady agreements. I believe the Prime Minister was referring to the form of the apparatus that existed in the past and the work with a certain logic, and it’s not easy to work with a new logic.”

When journalists asked if the statement implies radical changes in the state apparatus, Aghajanyan said major changes are made on a regular basis.
