Today Yerevan hosted the 8th session of the Council for Interregional and Transborder Cooperation of CIS countries.

Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia, Chairperson of the Council for Interregional and Transborder Cooperation of CIS countries Vache Terteryan welcomed the Council’s members to Armenia and stated that holding the session in Armenia for the second time serves as a good impetus for establishing new personal and work-related contacts and strengthening old contacts.

In her turn, representative of the CIS Executive Committee Olga Proskuryakova positively assessed the Council’s activities and emphasized that the Council has developed several key documents on cooperation development throughout its existence.

During the session, the members presented information about the activities for development of interregional and transborder cooperation of CIS countries, the course of implementation of the concept paper and action plan for cooperation in the period leading up to 2020, etc.

Based on the results, the CIS countries signed a protocol and approved the decision to hold the 9th session of the Council in Uzbekistan.
