The partners along the lines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are interested in the complete restoration of peace in the South Caucasus. Sergey Lebedev, Secretary General of the CIS and head of the latter’s monitoring mission, told reporters about this.

"I'll be honest. We—your neighbors, the partners along the lines of the CIS, are also very interested in the full restoration of peace, stability in the South Caucasus, and the creation of conditions for further development. In these conditions, not only the Russian Federation, but also the neighboring countries—Georgia, Iran, Turkey—show active participation. And we sincerely wish that those collective efforts to restore peace and stability in the South Caucasus will be crowned with success—and as soon as possible," Lebedev said.
