The statements by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict may become a carte-blanche for Azerbaijan. This is what Director of “Politeconomia” Research Institute Andranik Tevanyan said during the Institute’s year-end conference today.

According to him, such statements are the following: “Artsakh is Armenia, period”, “There are people in Karabakh who may incite a conspiracy war”, “It is necessary to find out which side is shooting”, “I don’t lead negotiations” and more. “The authorities of Armenia don’t want to assume responsibility for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and their only goal is to avoid the topic, engage Karabakh in the negotiations and leave it alone,” the analyst said.

Tevanyan attached importance to the holding of valuable and democratic elections in Karabakh, without foreign electoral intervention.
