Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi condemned the strike, leaving General Qasem Soleimani killed, as an “aggression against Iraq” and a “blatant attack on the nation’s dignity," AP reported.

He called for an emergency parliamentary meeting to take "necessary and appropriate measures to protect Iraq's dignity, security and sovereignty" on Saturday, when funerals will be held in Baghdad for al-Muhandis, the militia commander, and the other slain Iraqis.

He called this attack a dangerous escalation to foment a destructive war in Iraq and the region. According to him, this is also a clear violation of the conditions for the presence of American troops in Iraq, which is limited to the training of Iraqi forces to fight ISIS.
