This year, the Armenian authorities will start preparing for the celebration of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War a month in advance. This is what Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Suren Papikyan said during a question-and-answer session with government officials in parliament today, responding to a question from deputy of the My Step Alliance Alexey Sandikov.

The minister particularly stated that there is a commission set up to organize the festivities in May and that he is personally chairing the commission. “In early March, the commission will prepare the list of events to be held in the months to follow. Taking into consideration the fact that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, we will start preparing for the events in February,” Papikyan said and suggested that Sandikov also participate in the preparations.
