Minister of Defense of Armenia Davit Tonoyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Armenia Cornel Ionescu and military, military-air and military-marine attaché accredited to Armenia, Colonel Vasily-Mircha Zhuguranu (seat in Tbilisi) on the occasion of the accreditation of the latter in Armenia, reports the news service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

The defense minister congratulated Colonel Zhuguranu on his appointment and wished him success during his mission in Armenia.

Issues related to the Armenian-Romanian cooperation in the defense sector and the actions for the development of cooperation were discussed during the meeting. With satisfaction, the defense minister stated that the bilateral cooperation in the format of annual planning restored in 2019 will continue this year, and the scope of actions will be expanded.

Ambassador Ionescu also attached importance to the cooperation and confirmed Romania’s support to the efforts for development of cooperation.
