The results of the Armenian lobby’s efforts abroad will be visible as we get closer to the subsequent anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. This is what Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies at the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Turkologist Ruben Safrastyan told reporters today.

According to him, the two resolutions that the US government passed last year will definitely have an impact on international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide. He also attached importance to the analyses of Armenian analysts in regard to the processes unfolding in the Middle East since Armenia may be facing changes that will be similar to what happened in the early 20th century when the Treaty of Sevres was signed for the establishment of a Christian state in northern Turkey.

“Today, based on the events that are taking place, the Armenian Cause may become a current issue again, but it will be different, taking into consideration the existence of an Armenian state, which can apply soft power and advance its agenda among the public and political circles of many countries around the world,” he explained.
