There is a vulnerable point in what we say; it is that, unfortunately, the three constitutional amendments that took place in Armenia also did not reflect the will of the people. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during the YES campaign—in the forthcoming referendum on constitutional amendments—in Goris town.

"There is an idea now that we will say 'yes' to the referendum on April 5 to implement this tactical change, after which the process of adopting a new, legitimate constitution will be launched in Armenia, which will be a de facto revised version of the current constitution," Pashinyan said. “We agree that there will be no change in the system of governance so that this is not perceived that, here, I came, I am changing the Constitution so that I will not be Prime Minister, become President, and so on; that is, we will remain in the logic of the parliamentary system of governance. ”

Pashinyan added that the Constitutional Reform Commission has already been set up.

He also emphasized that they plan to have a new draft constitution in a year or two, and put it to a popular vote. "We are trying to have a constitution that is approved by the people's legitimate vote," he added.
