A while ago, Judge Artush Gabrielyan, on the ground of absence of substantiated suspicion, under the famous case of the events of Kapan, denied the motion of an investigator to apply arrest as a pre-trial measure for my client under the charge brought under the article of kidnapping of the Criminal Code of Armenia. This is what advocate Lusine Martirosyan stated on her Facebook page.

As reported earlier, on May 24, four citizens of Kajaran were apprehended, one of them was released later, but it turned out that he had been exposed to violence at the police station.

Later, the mayor of Kajaran issued a statement and said this was political persecution against him and that his close ones’ homes had been searched a few days ago and nothing was found.

Later, the Investigative Committee of Armenia issued a press release stating that a person had been kidnapped, beaten and that the mayor of Kajaran was linked to this.
