A preventive measure against Armenian ex-president Robert Kocharyan should be changed, said his attorney Aram Vardevanyan at a briefing on the opinion of the ECHR in the case of Kocharyan. 

The opinion of the ECHR is presented in response to a request from the Constitutional Court of Armenia.

He recalled that the Constitutional Court should also receive a reply from the Venice Commission. 

"But this opinion of the ECHR clearly outlined the allegations we made," he said.

At the same time, the lawyer also noted that all prisoners globally are being released from custody amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is clear that the preventive measure against Robert Kocharyan should be changed," he added.
