Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said mosques in Iran will reopen on Saturday in full compliance with health protocols, Tasnim reported.

According to him, the opening of mosques was a public demand.

Rouhani also noted that all worshippers must abide by the rules and protocols of social distancing when visiting religious centers.

He noted the restriction on the opening hours of shopping centers until 6 p.m. has been lifted as well.

The Iranian President added that the decision to open mosques does not mean at all that the COVID-19 has ceased to threaten residents and urged all residents of the country to exercise extreme caution.
