The Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia has issued the following statement:

“During the pandemic, it’s not always that one can give unequivocal evaluations of the actions taken by the Armenian government. Of course, we businessmen see the complications in the economy and the problems and omissions of the government. We deem it necessary to state that most of those mistakes can be corrected, and we expect that they won’t be made again in the future.

The Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia views the statements of government officials and deputies of the National Assembly on launching nationalization in various sectors as troubling. This isn’t characteristic of the independent Armenia that has adopted a policy on free market economy and is contributing to the formation of a negative attitude towards the government’s actions.

The Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia highly appreciates the Armenian government’s efforts during this complicated situation and expresses support to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s government, but also expects the government to fix the mistakes quickly, solve the problems as soon as possible and work with the ideas of liberalism.”
