The new Genesis GV80 crossovers revealed a problem with the engine. The GV80 owners complained of strong vibrations, and the automaker decided to stop the production and shipment of diesel cars, Motor reported.

A Korean company noted that engine vibrations at low speeds do not affect safety, and, according to preliminary data, the defect is associated with the accumulation of carbon deposits.

Genesis official dealers are ready to guarantee the removal of accumulated soot, besides, the automaker will conduct additional checks of the turbo engine to identify the cause of the problems.

Genesis reportedly decided to stop the production of the GV80 for the domestic market to eliminate quality problems on export versions of the model.

Demand for all cars has declined amid the COVID-19 pandemic, so a short-term shutdown will be less unpleasant for Genesis.
