YEREVAN. – Aram Vardevanyan, one of the lawyers of second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, officially states that the results of the COVID-19 tests of two employees in the Yerevan-Kentron Penitentiary are positive; Vardevanyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"(…) in Yerevan-Kentron Penitentiary—under the conditions of the [large] number of whose staff, arrestees and people serving sentences—only 48 employees were tested, and the results of the tests of two employees are positive. (…). 9 cases have been registered in Vardashen Penitentiary; I will not burden [you] with the cases registered in other penitentiaries as well.

In these circumstances, when arrest is not commuted immediately at least for the people [including Kocharyan] in the risk group, with that, the competent authorities not only devalue, but also destroy the rule of law," he wrote, in particular.
