The issue related to the alternative of the Upper Lars border checkpoint depends not only on Russia, but also issues that are sensitive for Georgia, including South Ossetia. This is what Russia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin declared during an online press conference today.

According to him, the issue is linked to implementation of the Russian-Georgian agreement signed in 201 and the formulation of cargo transportation.

“There is nothing in particular yet, but the issue on transport communication is always on the agenda of bilateral relations. The opportunities for ferry communication are also being considered,” he said.
