PACE's summer session has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, PACE Vice-Speaker Pyotr Tolstoy wrote on his Facebook.

According to him, the next meetings of the Bureau of the Assembly and the Standing Committee will already be held offline in Greece in September and they will discuss the preparation of the autumn session, scheduled for early October.

He noted that when deciding to hold a regular session in Strasbourg, they have to consider a number of factors. Tolstoy reminded that France has social distancing, and they cannot contradict the requirements in force. 

“Another important factor that was taken into account is the possibility of international travel," he added.
