Iran has completed lab tests of a coronavirus vaccine; human trials will begin within the next 2 months, Mehr reported referring to the president of Iran University of Medical Sciences professor Jalil Koohpayehzadeh.

Noting that international research on a coronavirus vaccine is underway, Jalil Koohpayehzadeh said that over 10 groups are conducting research on the production of a COVID-19 vaccine in Iran.

The compositions and types of vaccines are different, he added, saying that some vaccines will be used for weak viruses, others for recombinant viral compounds, and some can be obtained using new methods.

According to him, Iran can get samples of a vaccine against coronavirus, which can be used internationally by fall or early winter.
