At least five people died in the United States as a result of the tropical storm Isaias, which hit the Atlantic coast of the country, the BBC reported.

Two people died in a tornado right outside a home parking lot in North Carolina, and at least three people died in New York, Delaware, and Maryland.

The tropical storm moved to the southeast of Canada. Its strength dropped to the level of a post-tropical cyclone.

Canadian Hurricane Center warned of impending rainfall in southern Quebec.

Isaias was earlier labeled as a hurricane. The disaster struck Puerto Rico, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, where at least two people died. As a result of the hurricane, trees were uprooted, crops were ruined, and houses were destroyed.
