Manvel Grigoryan isn’t receiving treatment for recovery since Armenia’s healthcare system is incapable of treating the patient due to increase and deterioration of his illnesses. This is what Grigoryan’s attorney Levon Baghdasaryan said today.

“Evidence of this is the latest medical epicrisis of the patient. If the patient already has about 40 diseases, each of which can be treated effectively in Armenia, all of those diseases, which emerged as a result of not receiving effective treatment, can’t be treated at medical institutions in Armenia for one patient, and this is why there are more diseases. I state that the health minister, as the head of a state healthcare institution, knows this very well and is indifferent, and the judge for the case of Grigoryan knows the facts and is inactive. As a result, the patient is helpless. What is the interest of the state or justice? Is it to leave the patient in a helpless situation, not let him recover, torture and kill him, even when one person or some people are pleased to see such cruelty? To prohibit a patient with severe diseases from receiving treatment at his preferred clinic with the money provided by his close ones is cruelty and torture at the state level.
