The Supreme Judicial Council of Armenia recently granted the appeal of Judge Anna Danibekyan of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction and decided to extend the period for removing her name and last name from the list for distribution of cases for another six months, as reported Armenian News-NEWS.am after examining the decision of the Supreme Judicial Council.

The decision is based on Judge Anna Danibekyan’s application regarding her heavy workload, the letter of the chairperson of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction, the fact that investigation into the particularly complicated cases in the proceedings of Judge Anna Danibekyan, and the need for investigation of cases within reasonable time limits was taken into consideration.

The case of alleged overthrow of constitutional order under the case of the events of March 1, 2008 has been investigated in the proceedings of Judge Anna Daribekyan for a year now. The case concerns second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan; former Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, former Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Yuri Khachaturov; former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan and former Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, former Secretary of the National Security Council Armen Gevorgyan.
