The 5.7% drop of the GDP in the first half of this year was due to the state of construction in Armenia. In reality, the pandemic really hit the construction sector. This is what Head of Ameria Management Advisory Tigran Jrbashyan told reporters today, adding that the pandemic has also hit wholesale and retail trade and the real estate market.

Jrbashyan stated that the most damage was caused to the construction sector, but there is significant dynamics for recovery today. He also said there is a major decline in the tourism sector and the pandemic will continue to have an impact on tourism.

According to him, there are also some problems in the industry sector. He called on everyone to take into consideration the fact that the decline in the sector is due to not only the crisis, but also the comparisons of indicators.
