Secretary of the Security Council of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Samvel Babayan has conveyed a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Independence Day of Artsakh. The message reads as follows:
“Dear people of Artsakh, all Armenians around the world,
On September 2, 1991, the deputies of the Regional Council of Nagorno-Karabakh and the District Council of Shahumyan proclaimed the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic during a joint session.
The declaration of independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic was the implementation of the centuries-old wishes and dreams of the Armenian nation. Over the past 29 years, the Armenians of Artsakh, Armenia and the Diaspora have consistently created and enhanced fundamental values of national defense.
September 2nd is an exceptionally significant and valuable celebration for all Armenians. The independent and sovereign Artsakh is the birth of the spirit, unbreakable will, great patriotism and heroic struggle of the Armenian people. After 29 years, our aspirations remain the same, and the only thing that has changed in terms of quality is the format to achieve the aspirations. From now on, the security of Artsakh is a matter of honor and dignity for all Armenians.
Once again, I congratulate everyone on this major holiday in the modern history of Artsakh and wish strength and vigor to serve the homeland with self-dedication.”
