Russia and Armenia are considering the issues on the opening of borders both bilaterally and within the scope of the Eurasian Economic Union, but at the end of the day, this will be determined by the development of the epidemiological situation. This is what Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin told reporters today.

“If we’re talking about the trips of foreign citizens, including citizens of Armenia, Russia has taken steps to make sure citizens have the chance to depart for Russia when it is truly necessary. Citizens benefit from this, and as far as the opening of borders is concerned, the epidemiological situations of our countries play a decisive role,” the Ambassador stated.

Citizens of Armenia have been holding protests in Yerevan demanding that the Armenian government allow them to go to Russia.
