The Russian Defense Ministry is actively involved in the stabilization of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was announced to reporters at the Ministry on Tuesday, TASS reports.

"The Russian Defense Ministry is actively participating—within its competence—in the implementation of the Russian Federation's initiatives aimed at the rapid stabilization of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh," the ministry said.

In particular, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu held talks on this issue with his counterparts from various countries. "The main goal of this work is the immediate cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, and the transition of the parties to the conflict to talks to settle the situation in the region," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
