Turkey might have deployed militants in the North Caucasus in order to distract Russia’s attention from Nagorno-Karabakh. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“The question is if this was a coincidence or planned operation to destabilize the North Caucasus in order to distract Russia’s attention from the events that are currently unfolding in the South Caucasus, particularly in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. This is a very important subtlety that Russia needs to assess,” Pashinyan said.

Four militants who fired at security forces in the October district of Grozny have been destroyed, and three police officers have been killed. The armed gang was detected during operational intelligence actions in the October district of Grozny on Tuesday. A decision to carry out an anti-terrorist operation and introduce a relevant legal regime has been adopted.
