Tomorrow Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan will pay a working visit to Geneva where he will meet with the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. This is what Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Anna Naghdalyan said during today’s briefing.

As reported earlier, the subsequent meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Azerbaijan Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Jeyhun Bayramov and the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group was going to take place today.

“While this briefing is taking place, the foreign minister is having a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Abbas Araghchi. I will be able to provide further information about this meeting after it ends,” Naghdalyan added.

Asked why the previously scheduled meeting was postponed, Naghdalyan said it was due to the situation and logistics.

“As far as the agenda is concerned, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated several times that the primary issue is the cessation of fire for Armenia, based on the agreements reached on October 10. For us, the first issue is the establishment of ceasefire and the strengthening of the latter through the introduction of appropriate verification mechanisms, and the foreign minister is leaving for Geneva to discuss this issue,” Naghdalyan said.
