A conversation about the causes of the Russian Mi-24 helicopter being shot down over the skies of Armenia will be possible only after the operative investigation. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on Tuesday said this in an interview with Echo of Moscow radio station.

"We [Russia] have focused on the fact that an operative investigation is necessary. Once the investigation is over, it will be possible to talk about how it happened and what the reason was," she said.

Zakharova added that the Russian MFA’s earlier statements made on this matter were a response to the fact that the Azerbaijani side has admitted its involvement in this incident. "The rest is up to the investigation," said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
