Armenia and Azerbaijan have ceased hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] conflict zone, and the units of the two countries' armed forces have stopped at the occupied borders. The statement came from Sergey Rudskoy, Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, during a briefing, TASS reports.

According to him, "a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation is being deployed in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and in the Lachin corridor to monitor the implementation of the agreements on the cessation of hostilities and the ceasefire."

Rudskoy noted that Russian peacekeepers have established oversight by installing temporary observation points in the Lachin corridor and the Lisogorsk agricultural union on the Lachin road section.

According to him, after arriving at Erebuni Airport in Yerevan, the units of the first peacekeeping battalion of the 15th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces have marched 300 kilometers and are completing their concentration in Goris, Armenia.

He noted that army aircrafts and drones will also be used in the activities of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Karabakh.

According to Sergey Rudskoy, all Russian peacekeepers stationed in the conflict zone have Syrian experience.
