Congress leaders presented various gifts to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, AP reported.

The presentation of the gifts took place in lieu of the Congress dinner that usually follows the inauguration ceremony.

Democrat Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota said Lenox made a pair of commemorative vases for Biden and Harris, each weighing 14.5 kg.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell presented them with a pair of US flags, which were flown over the Capitol during the inauguration ceremony.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer presented photos from the ceremony.

Republican Senator Roy Blunt of Missouri noted that the Smithsonian had borrowed a painting called Landscape with a Rainbow by a famous black artist.
