The compulsory military service in the Greek army has been increased from 9 to 12 months, said Defense Minister Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos. 

Individuals in the Hellenic Air Force will still have to complete 12 months of national service, Kathimerini reported.

Military service in Greece is compulsory for men aged over 19.
