Davit Khachaturyan, a candidate for a member of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) of Armenia, does not want to talk about "whining judges."

Earlier we reported that the National Assembly on Friday engaged in discussing the issue of candidates for new members to the SJC.

Speaking with reporters, one of the candidates, Davit Khachaturyan, tried to express his professional opinion on the issues in the field of jurisprudence in Armenia.

Separately, reporters tried to find out Khachaturyan's view on Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement about "whining judges."

Recalling that he and the SJC chairman had reacted negatively to that statement, he noted that everyone has their own opinion.

"The political team is nominating not for opinion, but for professional qualities," Khachaturyan said, adding that, "if he [Pashinyan] said that, he probably had grounds for that," and the statement was made in a specific situation.

And when asked whether such a statement is insulting for judges, Khachaturyan assured that if such a statement is made to him, he will definitely respond.
