About 4,000 people are taking part in the demonstration in downtown Moscow in support of opposition figure Alexei Navalny, RIA Novosti reported, citing the police.
Earlier, Navalny's supporters had posted—on the Internet—calls for unsanctioned rallies in Russia on Saturday. The interior ministry warned had Russians those who participate in these demonstrations would be held accountable. And the Prosecutor General's Office had demanded that the access to websites with such calls be restricted.
