The National Assembly of Armenia failed to elect a judge of the Court of Cassation today. Out of the possible 132 ballots in the ballot box for the secret ballot, there were only 36 left, of which 8 were declared as invalid. Armen Haykyants garnered 13 votes, while Arsen Mkrtchyan garnered 15.

Earlier, the My Step faction of the National Assembly had declared that it wouldn’t vote since it wanted to express its attitude towards the chairperson of the Supreme Judicial Council in this way.
