YEREVAN. – Turkey and Azerbaijan are our enemies, and they consider us enemies, but the issue is different. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday stated this at the National Assembly of Armenia while presenting the report on the implementation and results of the government program for 2020, answering the MPs' questions.

According to him, this issue should not even be discussed, as everything is already clear. "Should we answer this question? This story—the last [Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war—, the recent events have already shown us, and therefore it is not a topic for discussion," said the PM.

However, the Armenian premier asked what to do with all this. According to him, the fact that peoples consider each other as enemies does not benefit anyone, although there are still opposite examples in history when inimical countries—even having territorial claims from each other—still trade with each other, have open borders, develop mutual tourism, etc., but the peoples of these countries continue to consider each other enemies.

"Yes, we are historical enemies, but the question is what we will do next. Will we keep this enmity under control? Or will we allow it to spiral out of control? That is, is our region a region of eternal enmity? This is the question we have to answer," said the prime minister, without answering this question.
