WhatsApp will gradually disable calls and messages from users who disagree with its new privacy policy, Insider said, citing a company spokesperson.

The new privacy policy was originally slated for February but was delayed three months after critics said the update would allow the app to transfer more personal data to Facebook, WhatsApp's parent company.

WhatsApp said the updated terms only apply to business messaging accounts, making it easier for businesses to connect to the Facebook platform.

Users will receive constant reminders in the app to accept the new terms.
