YEREVAN. – A murder was committed Wednesday in downtown Yerevan, as a man had shot Hovhannes Vardanyan in the head with a pistol on Abovyan Street.

The 50-year-old man, who was a resident of Gavar town, had died, the Police informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

A fired capsule was found at the scene.

A criminal case was initiated.

The police first found out that the murder suspect had actually targeted the man who was with Vardanyan.

On the same day, the gun—loaded with bullets—used in this crime, and the sportswear of the murder suspect were found in a trash bin in another district of the Armenian capital.

The murder suspect has been identified; he is Aleksandr Buzmarev, 23, a foreign citizen.

Measures are taken to find the murder suspect.
