NATO cannot guarantee non-expansion, but the entry of new countries from Eastern Europe is not on the agenda of the alliance. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in an interview published in the Suddeutsche Zeitung on Sunday, TASS reports.
When asked whether there can be guarantees that NATO will not expand, he said. "The entry of new countries from Eastern Europe into NATO is not on the agenda at all now. What is the purpose of this demand by Russia? There can be no such guarantee."
