The Karabakh issue, or the removal of the incumbent authorities, cannot be resolved with one rally; the society should not have such unjustified hopes. Armen Ashotyan, vice-chairman of the former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), told this to a press conference Tuesday.

According to the opposition member, if everything had been so simple, the aforementioned processes would have been implemented long ago. According to Ashotyan, the opposition rally starting today at 6:30pm should become a unique starting factor of this process.

Also, Ashotyan had attached a broach of a forget-me-not—a symbol of the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide—to his clothes, and he drew special attention to it. The opposition figure noted with regret that this symbol is absolutely applicable to the current realities. In his opinion, the forget-me-not can now acquire a new meaning and become a unique symbol of the resistance of the Armenian people and the fight for their future.
