Azerbaijani Human Rights Defender Sabina Aliyeva appealed to international organizations on the issue of mines.

Azerbaijani media reports that the appeal says that "mines laid during the military aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan and during the occupation years still pose a potential threat to people's lives and health".

According to her, another Azerbaijani citizen, a soldier of the internal troops, came across to a mine and received various wounds. "We strongly condemn such incidents, which are a serious obstacle to peace and security in the region, and once again call on international organizations to take thorough measures against Armenia for providing accurate maps of minefields," the ombudswoman said.

It should be noted that Azerbaijani human rights defender never visited, never recalled the existence of dozens of Armenian captives in Azerbaijan. Armenia long ago handed over its maps of minefields. However, Azerbaijan claims that "the maps are inaccurate.”
