With what happened in Parukh village of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), Azerbaijan is attempting to target Russian peacekeepers. Artsakh Foreign Minister David Babayan told about this to a press conference Monday in Yerevan.

Responding to the remark that Armenia’s authorities speak about the accountability of the Russian peacekeepers, the Artsakh FM noted: "You are saying that the Russian side has not fulfilled its obligations. Do we have the right to ‘throw stones’ at anyone, especially at the country on which our security and future depend?

Love the West as much as you want. But that does not mean that one should hate Russia. On behalf of Azerbaijan, we have a country where Armenophobia and terrorism have been raised to the level of state policy. This is also seen by the [Russian] peacekeepers, who have also become targets. The Parukh incident was a blow not only to the Armenians, but also to the Russian peacekeepers.

Realizing all this, we still try to blame. Who benefits from it? The adversary. How can it happen that the Armenian hits the same target as the enemy?

I repeat, Armenians and Jews have a unique opportunity to make friends with everyone. Russia is our friend, and it does not mean that America is an enemy. There is a [Armenian] diaspora, and we are obligated to have good relations with all the countries where there is a [Armenian] diaspora. And the Parukh incident is a terrorist act, a blow to both us and the peacekeeping mission; and it will not go unanswered."
