It was a good meeting with Armenia's Foreign Minister, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said at a briefing in Yerevan on Thursday.  "We expressed agreement on topics at the level of bilateral cooperation," he said. The Iranian diplomat said the trade turnover between the countries is about $700 million.

"We have agreed to bring this figure to $1 billion, given the potential to raise this level above $1 billion. The directions for the development of cooperation are very broad. One such area is the opening of the Consulate General of Iran in Kapan, which will create a more convenient and accessible environment. The issue of roads is very important. The opening of Iran's Consulate General in Kapan, in Syunik province, is one of the important steps that we, together with the Armenian Foreign Minister, should take tomorrow," the minister added.
