Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan should be asked: When Armenia was the presiding country at the CSTO during Azerbaijan's aggression, why was it unable to sign a document where, as they say, there would be political assessments of Azerbaijan's actions and preventive measures? Opposition MP Agnesa Khamoyan told reporters about this Thursday.

She noted that the incumbent Armenian authorities never admit their guilt.

"According to them, they are not guilty of provoking a war, they are not guilty of the failure of negotiations; they are not guilty that Azerbaijani troops remain in the sovereign territory of Armenia. They are not guilty of anything. Now a situation has arisen when Azerbaijan [which is not a CSTO member] has more friends in the CSTO than Armenia [which is a CSTO member]. Those questions should be asked to Armenia’s authorities," said Khamoyan.

The lawmaker reminded about the criminal case launched in Armenia against former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov—and which damaged the reputation of the CSTO.

"This is the same Nikol Pashinyan who ‘heroically’ did not meet [Russian President] Putin at the [Yerevan] airport in 2019. All his steps are aimed at maintaining his own power. If the guarantor is Russia, then he will lead Armenia in the direction of integration of relations with Russia. If the guarantor is the West, then he will lead in the western direction,” Khamoyan added, in particular.
