Another expansionist and colonial manifestation of Azerbaijan is to absorb Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and to separate it from Armenia. Opposition MP Artur Khachatryan on Tuesday told reporters this at the National Assembly of Armenia.

"That move of theirs [i.e., the Azerbaijanis] was expected when they started talking about the transfer of weapons through the Lachin Corridor, as if [land]mines of 2021 production had been found. It should have been expected that Azerbaijan would have to go to another escalation [of tension], especially considering today's Armenian authorities’ passive, to put it mildly, but in fact, the policy of washing [their] hands of Artsakh," he said.

And asked whether the Armenian opposition, which promised to save Artsakh and Armenia, is to blame for this situation, the lawmaker answered: "I believe that the obligation to save Artsakh and Armenia is that of all people of Armenia. I assure you that if the people [of Armenia] had uses all their leverage, if they had believed our admonition that we are going to an even worse situation and joined, the situation would have been better. But the situation is not hopeless, everything can still be saved, that's why I call on concerned citizens to support the opposition forces, believe, and take to the streets."

Also, Khachatryan assured that there will be new street protest actions in Armenia.
