YEREVAN. – Past daily of Armenia writes: In recent times, more and more politicians and analysts point out that there is no actual Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiation process, and we are dealing only with an imitation of such a process.

Metakse Hakobyan, an MP of the "Justice" faction of the Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] NA [(National Assembly)]  also has a similar opinion, in whose conviction, there is cooperation with the role of purely the demander and the executor, where the demander is the Azerbaijani side, the executor—Armenia’s authorities.

Reflecting on the provocations of Azerbaijanis in recent days, the MP expressed concern that we should wait for an action with a greater momentum.

"Unless, of course, it turns out before then that there were verbal agreements again. And as a result of them, [Armenia’s PM] Nikol Pashinyan will announce that ‘he is forced to make concessions in order to save more important things.’ It is about the fact that, for example, they can come to an agreement that there should be a control point on the road connecting Armenia to Artsakh, which will actually be the end. It can cause panic, emigration and gradual depopulation of Armenians, as a result of which Azerbaijan will resolve all matters in its favor," said Hakobyan in an interview with Past.

According to her, it is naive to expect security guarantees from other countries.

"When you base your existence, your future on the basis of a security guarantee, at best you will have the status of a colony. The basis should be on the exercise of the right to self-determination," the [Artsakh] MP summed up.
